Transportation Risk and Safety
After 15 years with government agencies in commercial vehicle enforcement, Seth Uhlenkott brought his experience to private industry to help small companies operating under USDOT regulations. Seth began his career with the Idaho Transportation Department as a Port of Entry Inspector and joined the Idaho State Police in 2004. He worked in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Division as a Senior Specialist, Hazardous Materials Specialist, and as a Sergeant. Seth was a certified instructor for the FMCSA National Training Center for the North American Standard Inspection and Idaho POST.
He provided industry training to new inspectors and safety personnel including commercial vehicle enforcement and interpretation of complex regulations. He was certified in multiple areas, including Safety Audits. Seth enjoys educating and assisting owners/drivers so they may find success under USDOT regulations.
Since leaving enforcement in 2016, Seth has owned and operated Safety & Compliance Solutions out of Boise, Idaho. During this time Seth has helped hundreds of companies with safety audits and investigations from state and federal enforcement agencies. A large part of the assistance to the companies is developing safe operating practices and policies. These practices and policies have been the basis for carriers improving their safety rating and reducing their risk of incidents and crashes.
In addition to safety improvement, Seth regularly teaches a number of DOT and OSHA mandated courses on driver safety, hazardous materials, hours-of-service, and pre-trip inspections. This training is constantly upgraded to meet the ever changing rules and regulations. Seth enjoys the training aspects and being able to help companies and drivers improve their operations and complete their jobs safely and effectively.
