Stewart Hyndman

Stewart Hyndman graduated from the University of Idaho and began his career at the university as an Associate Professor in the Agricultural Department. As an extension agent, he advised farmers and ranchers regarding best practices in livestock management, grading livestock, etc. He then went to work for Warm Springs Ranch and managed the third largest cow/calf operation in the State of Idaho, 2300 head on average.

In 1981, he went to work for the State of Idaho as an Inspector, then an Investigator, and finally the State Marketing Director. He went from blood testing cattle, to hunting down cattle rustlers, conducting plant health inspections, and resolving weights and measures disputes on gas stations. After this he rose to the rank of Marketing Director for the Idaho Department of Agriculture. As the Marketing Director, he opened up the Idaho trade offices across the globe, namely in Taipei,
Taiwan; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Shanghai, China. He dealt with risk management in negotiating phytosanitary regulations between the United States and these countries, impacting millions of dollars in trade and commerce.


Stewart also ran a potato flake export company. This involved international risk management regarding product liability, contracts, supply chain issues, and insurance claims overseas. He also owned a restaurant, grocery store business, and a custom-bonded warehouse in Boise named Logistic Services of Idaho.


For the past twenty years, he has served as owner and agent of a Farmers insurance agency in Nampa, Idaho. He also has volunteered and served on the Faith, Family, and Freedom Board, was the Chair of the National Wild Turkey Federation – Southwest Idaho Chapter, Chapter President of Business Networks International BNI Nampa), and Impact Fee Committee Member for Canyon County, Idaho.


Stewart has a wife, Diane, four adult children and eight grandchildren (six boys and two girls). He enjoyed running, biking, and swimming in triathlons with his wife, daughter, and grandkids. He is a frequent hunter, sporting clay pro, and fly fisherman. Most people who have met Stewart recognize him as a person who likes to bless others and enjoys this life given to him.
